Cybersecurity firm Kaspersky has issued a warning about SparkCat, identifying it as a malicious software development kit (SDK) lurking within apps found on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. This malware exhibits advanced data-stealing capabilities, including the ability to scan device photos for personal information. Downloading an infected app unknowingly puts users’ financial and personal data at considerable risk.
Kaspersky’s report reveals that SparkCat has been detected in 28 apps: 18 on Android and 10 on iOS. Notably, the popular app “ChatAI" is among those affected. Users are strongly advised to remove this app from their devices immediately.
