Oppo Find N5 Could Be The Thinnest Foldable This Year, Launch Tipped For Next Month

OPPO is about to release a new model in its book-style foldable range after a one-year hiatus. A Weibo post by OnePlus founder and OPPO Chief Product Officer Pete Lau, stated that the smartphone, known as the Find N5, is anticipated to make its debut in China in February 2025. The report suggests that the OnePlus Open 2 will be the global launch name for the OPPO Find N5.

In 2023, OnePlus introduced its first foldable smartphone in India and other international territories. It was called the OnePlus Open and was based on the OPPO Find N3, which was only available in China and a few other countries. After the OPPO Find N5’s China launch, the OnePlus Open 2 is anticipated to take a similar strategy and launch worldwide.

OPPO Find N5: What To Expect

Pete Lau announced that the Oppo Find N5 will be released in China in February in a post on the Chinese social media site Weibo. The post included a teaser graphic that gave us a sneak peek at the ergonomics of the future foldable. According to the Chief Product Officer, it will launch as the world’s “thinnest foldable phone."

A pencil, which seems thicker than the alleged smartphone in the teaser image, was used for comparison. It's still uncertain, though, just how thin it will be.

According to a post by Pete Lau, the book-style foldable smartphone has been shown off from a side perspective and is billed as the thinnest foldable flagship gadget in the world. It is anticipated the OPPO Find N5 will have an industrial design with an emphasis on durability and titanium construction. As per reports, the device has an IPX8 rating for water resistance.

The smartphone will probably include three cameras and a periscope zoom lens bearing the Hasselblad logo. It is anticipated to include satellite connection capability and be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.

With compatibility for both conventional and wireless charging, the smartphone will be powered by a 6,000mAh battery. The Find N5 may have 50W wireless charging in addition to 80W or 100W wired charging speed, according to the report.
