Samsung Galaxy S25 Series With 200MP Camera And Android 15 Launched: Price, Features
Apple’s big battle with the European Union (EU) regulators is finally seeing a main rule change in the region from this week onwards. The company and other tech brands will now have to sell all their mobile devices with USB C charging port, which means Apple cannot sell the older iPhones that came with lightning connectors in the EU countries from December 28 onwards.
The company was forced into adopting USB C for its iPhones and other devices by the stringent EU tech rules. Apple is tipped to remove the models from next week itself, and in countries like Switzerland, the changes could happen earlier than others.
In addition to the iPhone 14 series, Apple is also selling the iPhone SE 2022 model that will also face the cull from the company before the start of 2025. Having said that, the report also points out that Apple’s Authorised reseller will have them in stock till they last.
The company is also going to remove other lightning-based devices in its lineup to fall in line with the new EU rules. Apple has already made a dramatic switch to USB-C across all its products, and soon we might see it happen with the iPhone SE 4 model that is tipped to launch in early 2025.
The changes have been done quickly by the company and it already has a strong core of products with support for the charging standard. Having said that, the existing iPhone 14 and iPhone SE users don’t have to stop using their devices, at least until it is working fine. And for people in India, these iPhone models will be available across channels, at least until the country’s government passes an EU-like rule.
