Oppo Find X8 Ultra, Find X8s To Debut On April 10: Price, Specs And More
Meta Ray Ban glasses have done quite well for their mid-range price tag and now the company seems bullish enough to come out with a premium range of these devices. Reports this week say Meta will be making a $1000 (Rs 85,800 approx) worth smart glasses called the Hypernova by the end of this year.
These premium Ray Ban smart glasses will obviously pack a lot more features, advanced hardware and support gesture controls like the Meta Quest headsets.
Smart Glasses For Rs 1 Lakh: What Would It Offer?
The report from Bloomberg says the Hypernova smart glasses could sell for as high as $1,300 (Rs 1,04,000 approx) which takes the product to a whole new market. The current Meta Ray Ban glasses are available at $299 (Rs 25,000 approx), so the company will surely have a big gulf to make up and offer a product that is not only smart but powerful and versatile as well.
The good news is that Meta realises it needs more in the armoury to bring a $1,000 smart glasses and the early signs are promising.
The report says Hypernova smart glasses will support apps on the display and let you control them using hand gestures. It will have a screen that displays the icons directly to your eyes, and have a capacitive touch input on the frame. The smart glasses will get a better camera which is granted for the price tag, and bring AI features to the wearable via a slew of apps.
Will Hypernova Succeed?
Apple launched its pricey Vision Pro headset that costs $3,299 (Rs 2.90 lakh approx), which has gradually become a niche product and the sales story paints the picture for everyone. The Meta smart glasses and the Quest headset have done well because of how much they cost, so bringing a new product priced at over Rs 1 lakh even with these advanced features might not exactly become appealing to the buyers.
Having said that, we did feel the same about the first-gen Meta smart glasses, so we’d rather wait to see how and what the company plans to do if the new gadget is announced.
