Google Pixel 9a Now Available In India After Some Delays: Price, Specs
Delhi Summer 2025 is knocking on the doors which means it is time to service those Air Conditioner (ACs) or time to buy a new one to handle the heat. As most of us know, buying an AC online from Amazon, Flipkart and other online shopping websites requires thorough research. You need to think about factors like the room size for the right variant, how the AC will be installed and which kind of AC is suitable for your space.
There used to be a time when ACs were considered a luxury but now ACs are affordable as well as brimming with features that make them good value for the money. So, if you are planning to buy a new AC, this buying guide will help you decide better.
Split or Window AC
Window ACs get fixed on a window or any platform which is tough enough to hold any model. A window AC model comes equipped with all the components, which makes it big yet cheaper. It is easy to install a window AC but the affordability comes at the cost of a noisy machine, which you may or may not like.
With a split AC, the split part of the machine includes a compressor and the heat dispensing coils that are separated into an internal and external unit, respectively which you might have seen outside houses.
In addition to the ease of installing, Window ACs cost less money for servicing and even the parts. While split AC can be a bit difficult to set up. Split ACs are quiet, and you don’t need a specific place to fix them. But they are expensive, so buy only if the budget permits. Once you decide the type of the AC, it will be easy to finalise the size to buy for the room and most people opt for the 1.5-tonne version that caters to most room sizes.
Running AC, Higher Power Bill
Running ACs have become unavoidable with the heat on the rise, but even then you can make the best of the cooling machines and get the best mileage out of them. So when you are buying an AC (split or Windows), always check for the Star rating which goes from 3 to 5 and decide on the model based on your budget.
However, you must know that a 3-star rated AC will consume more power than a 5-star AC that initially costs you more. If your consumption does not include running the AC all-day, lower rating AC being run at a nominal temperature should suffice.
To Inverter Or Not
You might have seen a lot of ACs these days carrying the tag of the inverter. Now, if you buy an inverter, the AC model allows users to tweak the cooling capacity as required and helps in saving electricity bills. For example, if you buy a 1.5 Ton inverter AC, then this model will be able to function between 0.5 ton and 1.5 ton cooling capacity depending on the temperature outside.
However, if you buy a 1.5 ton non-inverter model, the AC will run in its true nature which can be heavy on the pocket. Also, inverter ACs have power-saving features but they are expensive in all ways.
