Facial recognition, social media scans and robodogs: How AI is aiding Trump’s immigration crackdown
Xiaomi 15 Ultra finally made its debut in India earlier this month and the new premium model has caught everyone’s attention with its design and overall camera setup. But Xiaomi isn’t the lone contender in the premium camera segment in the country, as you also have the Vivo X200 Pro that comes totting with the Zeiss Optics lenses and some powerful features.
Both these brands are doing their best to gatecrash the premium table in India, which is easier said than done because of the big Cupertino-based giant. Even then, it is obvious that both these Pro-grade smartphones are pitted against each other, especially when you pay a premium for them.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra has launched in India at Rs 1,09,999 which is quite below its global price tag. But with the right bank offers you can get the model for Rs 99,999 in the country. Vivo X200 Pro is available at Rs 94,999 and both the phones come in single 16GB + 512GB model in the country.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra gets a metal frame with a textured back panel that features the Leica branding and a giant camera module. The device gets IP68 rating which makes it resistant to dust and water. The X200 Pro features an all-glass panel that has a glossy shade but still gets a premium look and feel. This device comes with IP69 rating. Design is usually subjective, but in this case, both the phones have a clear identity that works.
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra sports a 6.73-inch LTPO OLED display with 2K screen resolution and 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. The display gets Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and PWM dimming support. The X200 Pro has a slightly bigger 6.78-inch LTPO OLED display but with 1.5K resolution supported. It has higher brightness levels compared to the 15 Ultra.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra comes with a quad-rear camera setup which includes Leica sensors. You have a primary 50MP sensor with OIS, a 50MP ultra wide lens, a 50MP telephoto lens with OIS, and a 200MP periscope telephoto lens with 4.3x optical zoom.
Vivo has opted for a triple camera unit with Zeiss Optics lenses. You get a 50MP primary sensor with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide lens and a 200MP periscope telephoto lens but with 3.7x optical zoom and OIS.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage on offer. Vivo X200 Pro gets the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset, also with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.
For software, Xiaomi gives you the HyperOS 2.0 version based on Android 15 with the promise of 4 OS upgrades, while the X200 Pro also comes with Android 15 out of the box and four OS upgrades assured. You also get a slew of AI features on both the premium devices which range from AI editor to AI translation tools.
Xiaomi 15 Ultra packs a 5,420mAh battery with support for 90W wired and 80W wireless charging speed. The X200 Pro comes with a large 6,000mAh battery that supports 90W wired and 30W wireless charging speeds.
Both these phones are powerful, versatile shooters with their respective engineered lenses. Besides that you have two flagship-grade devices that offer long battery life and decent OS support. Yes, they do cost a lot of money but with these features it is hard to deny their value in all aspects.
